Faster, better decisions with less effort; no-touch S&OP in one sentence. Traditionally the S&OP process drives monthly decision making with the Executive S&OP meeting as the final agreement meeting. But demand and supply disruptions do not wait – not even for the Executive S&OP meeting! Do these regular S&OP meetings deliver the promise of better business decision making? Or do you feel too much time and effort is spent, while at the same time the S&OP decisions seem already outdated due to changing circumstances?
We see an increasing interest in themes like blockchain, artificial intelligence, big data and machine learning. Used already in various applications e.g. fly-by-wire, self-driving cars, automated fraud recognition, automated jurisdiction. These techniques possibly enable companies to go into the direction of ‘no-touch planning’ and further improve the S&OP process. By better utilization of the ‘machine’ we can limit human intervention to where it really adds value. And thereby making the planner’s work more attractive.
To what extent are we able to generate (semi-)autonomous decisions in the S&OP process? Can automation in S&OP bring us speed while reducing overall effort and improving decision quality? The technology is there, but are we humans ready for it? In this network meeting we explore the possibilities to implement ‘no-touch’ S&OP processes, show benefits and discuss the prerequisites to be in place.
The network meeting will cover:
- Insights in achieving ‘no-touch S&OP’
- Real-life (semi-)automated decision-making practices, like in aviation and healthcare
- Pragmatic steps to get first results
- Best practices from your peers
